How landed cost is calculated
Start from the assessable value (CIF). Basic customs duty applies to it, then a social welfare surcharge of 10% of that duty, then IGST on assessable value plus duty plus surcharge. Add clearing, port and transport charges to reach landed cost. For a GST-registered importer the IGST is recoverable, so your real cost of goods is landed cost minus IGST.
